Key insight
Recovery is asymmetric: a 30% drop needs a ≈42.9% gain and a 50% drop needs a 100% gain to get back to even.

If ETH drops 30%, what is my portfolio worth?
Portfolio = capital × (1 − 30%) = 70% of capital. On 1,000 USDT that is 700 USDT; recovering to 1,000 needs a ≈42.9% gain.
